Elite Mages’ Academy (Web Novel)

Summary of overall thoughts: I'd have to say that my time with this novel was fairly fun. Though I have to give it a one out of five because of the ending. The ending if you get to it just leaves you feeling empty. This story probably had another 1, 000 to 1500 chapters in it. But it ended incredibly incredibly incredibly incredibly abruptly. What I mean is there's a power Realms in this and the main character only gets to the Third and is only barely able to fight against the fourth before the novel is over. But overall I enjoyed my time with the novel until that ending like. . . bruh. The main character's a cool guy kind of like generic at the start but grew on ya. Dude has a nice set of powers, not super overpowered at the beginning but there's no real ending to it so he never really got Mega overpowered. Side characters are generic but at least the good kind of generic where you really wanted more time with them but you didn't get it. The system is kind of weird it's called Elite magic Academy but it is a kind of a six-prong system but they only ever really go over three of them because we never really had the time to explore the rest of the d*mn world. Mc 3. 5 outta 5 Side characters 3. 5 outta 5 Power system 3/5 Plot 4/5 Ending: -5 outta 5 Summary- Fun plot but if you read you're only gonna get frustrated

I don't read the novel until the end, only up to ch 214. But i feel like there is going to be a rush power up. Let me briefly explain, up to the chapter that i read, there is barely 3 month time in the novel. And mc power rank has not reach black iron yet. Now let me explain the power rank, there is black iron - bronze - silver - gold - dark gold - lore - epic - legendary. I only know this much since this is the only information that i got in early chapter. This novel end around chapter 700+, and the power level up is a snail pace. I believe there will be great disturbance around the power system. Like, you only had around less than 600 chapter to get a power from the very bottom to the top. Also, from the first 200 chapter that i read, it looks like it is really hard to get the power. I got overwhelmed so i stop reading and look for the comment and review, they said that the ending was sh*t. So i check it out myself. And yes, with that kind of ending, i would feel like my time reading this will be wasted.

The power system - Fairly standard. It'd be cool if it mattered at all, but the MC has a habit of struggling with people weaker than him and beating people stronger than him. Plot - Had potential at the start, but the author is trying to do a lot and he doesn't do it well IMO. Most of what happens requires everyone who is not the MC to not think, ever. The schools exams are so poorly thought out that it becomes comedic, which is an issue due to how much time they take up and the consequence of them. Romance - Could've been fine, but the love interest isn't present for most of this story and barely speaks when she is there. Final thoughts - This story functions well enough as a turn your brain off and read, which for these is generally enough, but too much bothered me with this one. I would probably give it another star if the arcs were arranged better and if the exams made even a modicum of sense.

Well I'll give it 3 stars and the only reason is pure nostalgia since it was the first novel that really caught my eye and it's a shame it had that ending 😮‍💨

i'll give 3 star because the ending really is disappointing, kinda like, in rush, then the character development probably not the best, but i will recommend this to you because it's fun, alt its a bit frustrating

Really wasted potential on this novel i can't even bear to finish it , two stars from me and tbh it annoyed me so much before i dropped it at ch 364 that i would've rather give it even less but i can see how some other aspects of it would deserve better , even so as i write this review fresh out of reading maybe swayed more of emotions and less by logic against a better judging lets say i'll settle at two stars, as i've stated in the comments the amount of unreasonable it's too absurd for me and i can't stomach it , and before i get reminded that " chinese LN lmao first time?" it's not and at some point after reading many of them i got used to it, i don't even understand tbh after so many chinese novels that i read ( and here i mean even the young master genre of " how dare you , get on your knees and apologise for offending me and maybe just maybe after that i'll leave you with an intact corpse" sort of novels) how i got irked by this that in retrospect didn't had those sorts of encounters but some other kind of unreasonable that i simply couldn't stomach it.

Great beginning, disappointing development.

You will like it in the first parts. It was great and interesting. But then... Not so much.
First of all, the concept of the academy itself isn't strong. For something that's put on title, it's a total let down.
And then the MC itself. Oh man. He could do much better than that but he wasn't. A very disappointing for an SS mage.
And the world building. Hmm, I'd say it's interesting but not properly executed so it becomes very messy.
And then the plot itself. A problem isn't finished but more complications being added. There are things like cringey and unnecessary stuffs in the story and they ruined it. Just keep reading, you'll know.

And what's with giving loli shit? Why not describe it as young girl or little girl? Do you want to make the mc pedofil or what?!

Most interesting is the academy stuff honestly I hate the other world stuff. Mc is okay just a bit nosy. His power starts slowly and with every upgrade, he probably gets extremely strong but upgrades aren't very fast, in fact after reading all the chapters his talent only improves once. A lot of chapters can be skipped so you can probably skim through a lot of chapters.

The story has a really solid power system.
The side characters are interesting and have actual personalities.
The world-building is amazing.
The main character isn't completely overpowered and his abilities have clear limitations which make it interesting to see how he uses them to become strong.
However, there are two things that may cause readers to dislike this novel...
The colonization aspect of the novel, and the semi-racist patriotism portrayed in the novel by the mc who is from china.
